On the weekend of 9th and 10th February 2019, the Bar Association of India is hosting the 1st LAWASIA Human Rights Conference at New Delhi. Under the theme ‘State Power, Business and Human Rights: Contemporary Challenges’ eight panels will discuss pressing human rights issues including gender and sexuality, new technology and privacy, conflicts and cross-border migrations, and impact of climate change.
We, at the Bar Association of India are delighted to bring together leading minds to deliberate urgent human rights issues around the world and the Asia Pacific in particular. The inaugural LAWASIA Human Rights Conference will provide a platform for practitioners from several jurisdictions to share their experiences on human rights advocacy and the challenges ahead.
New Delhi in early Spring provides a superb gateway to explore the architecture of the capital and cities nearby, such as Agra, Jaipur and Amritsar. For those with a little more time, consider visiting Allahabad for the Kumbh Mela.
Hope to see you all at the Conference.
