The Bar Association of India has been organising national conventions as a major event in their legal calendar where contemporary issues concerning the rule of law, human rights, the legal profession and the justice delivery system are deliberated and discussed.
I am thrilled that LAWASIA and the Bar Association of India have come together to host the 1st LAWASIA Human Rights Conference, to be held at New Delhi on the 9th and 10th of February 2019.
The Conference will host experts from the legal profession, the academia, media as well as policy. Judges of the Indian Supreme Court will also be presiding over a few of the sessions. The delegates will discuss issues at the intersection of human rights advocacy and policy.
I am confident that the Conference holds great potential for an engaging exchange of ideas across disciplines and jurisdictions.
Hope to see you in New Delhi.
Dr Lalit Bhasin
President, The Bar Association of India
